Internet Idiots.com was born out of frustration really. I run several web sites and it’s a great lifestyle. I choose my own hours, work from home, and decide what I want to do everyday. But owning an Internet business has its downside too.

There are lots of scam artists, jerks, rude people and just plain idiots on the Internet. They all seem to think they can say or do whatever they want. They write emails to me using words they would never have the guts to use in person. Some of them think that, just because you’re on the Internt, you must be ripping people off!

And then there’s the folks who are trying to cheat you. They’ll use stolen credit cards, try to change their order totals, give fake reasons for returns, or simply copy your stuff and sell it themselves.

I have a few friends who also run Internet businesses and they all have the same issues. So I built this web site as a resource for them: a place where they could go to learn how to protect themselves and express their frustration.

But there’s another side of the equation…

Regular folks are vulnerable too. They don’t know who to trust or what signs to look for when shopping on line. They can fall victim to phishing scams, fly-by-night merchants, get their credit card numbers stolen or worse. Your average Joe doesn’t really understand how it all works and what to do to keep safe.

So, this site also has tips, tools and techniques to keep Internet users safe. I’ll do my best to explain things from the merchants viewpoint: If you understand how it works from our side, you’ll be much safer.

I hope both Internet business folks and regular folks will use this site as a resource to help make the web a safer and more enjoyable place to be.
